The groundbreaking ceremony has taken place for Rubenstein Commons, a $20 million campus building for the Institute of Advanced Study in Princeton , New Jersey Designed by Steven Holl Architects , the scheme aims to provide space for enhanced collaboration and communication between faculty and scholars at one of the world’s leading centers for curiosity-driven basic research.” The ceremony took place on March 14th, the birthday of famed physicist Albert Einstein , who spent the last twenty-two years of his life working at the Institute.
For the “Imagine Angers” international design competition, Vincent Callebaut Architectures worked in collaboration with Bouygues Immobilier group to submit a proposal for the French city at the intersection of social and technological innovation , with a focus on ecology and hospitality Named Arboricole, meaning tree” and cultivation,” this live-work-play environment gives back as much to the environment as it does its users. Delivered primarily by Professors from the IE School of Architecture and design in Segovia (Spain), the course begins by examining the mind-set of an Architect – asking how they think and what they do to train their creative minds, moving on to using inspiration from the environment to stimulate design ideas.
