Drew Stone founded AGS Custom Interiors, in 2007 as an answer to the waste of remodeling and art that doesn't fit its environment. Beginning with waste-paint of many interior painting projects, and the discovery of the plethora of durable colors that blend so well, Drew began to work with re-purposed palate of interior and trim paint on panels, canvas, re-purposed packing paper and recycled burlap coffee bags.

Seattle Artist Drew Stone to Exhibit Work at Tea Treasures

of AGS Custom Interiors, will exhibit his work at Tea Treasures tea

Founded in 2007, AGS Custom Interiors endeavors to create art which

Tea Treasures, a sophisticated boutique tea shop, gives Seattle-area residents a chance to sample the finest-quality teas from around the
world. Elizabeth Borges, owner of Tea Treasures, shares with her customers her immense knowledge of tea, from tea rituals and traditions, to the cultivation and history of tea.  Samples of the most preferred items will be served.

The 3rd Thursday Art Walk is sponsored by the Mercer Island Arts Council and City of Mercer Island Parks and Recreation. Executive Director of the Dunshee House, Kim Holstein with Administrative Coordinator David French, recruited Andrew in the middle of April during his show at Rosebud to hang for three months during the summer where currently, Dunshee House offers over 20 peer-facilitated groups each week!

Andrew will be hanging various collections that reflect the type of strength and courage facing the unknown as well as lighthearted and inspiring works from the artist studio, many never before seen and new works as well.

March 14, 2007 For Immediate Release Show: Life As Usual Location: Rosebud Restaurant and Bar
Artist: Andrew Grant Stone (AGS)
Show Dates: April 2, 2007 - April 30, 2007
Artist Reception: Tuesday, April 3, 2007 6pm
Rosebud Restaurant and Bar is proud to present new painings by artist Andrew "Drew" Stone, "Life As Usual". The show is running through the month of April and will include new, never before seen works as well as a select few from his recent (February 2007) exhibition at Starbucks in University Village.
Displaying mostly large and meduim sized works capturing simple complexity and entropic order, "Life As Usual" describes the irritating details of a normal existance that we all are part of. "Even the bore of the room is interested in something complex, just ask" dares Stone. Largley inoffensive, but mired in deeper detail, the pieces in this collection should be suited just as well either to glance at, or make a engaging conversation piece.
Although not activley part of the (2Tue) second Tuesday art walk on Capitol Hill, Rosebud will be open and ready to serve customers for a beverage or happy-hour snack for those that want to get of their feet for a change.
Please join us for our free artist's reception on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 6pm.
Champagne will be served to those that legally deserve it while supplies last.

(Seattle, WA) – He's already created quite the buzz on the Seattle art horizon with his shocking and controversial works, and now local artist Andrew Grant Stone (AGS) is rebelling against his own intuition. His latest show, 'Paintings Your Home Will Love' is a collection of large format original paintings on an array of fabrics, created with the express purpose of looking more like part of your home and less like tormented art.
"It's like a heart transplant; necessary but inconvenient," says Stone of typical domestic art in his off-hand, irreverent manner. The concept behind the new collection of works is that they fit effortlessly into a comfortable, modern home. Using a warm and hospitable palette of latex paints of a variety of finishes, the artist brings paintings to life — creations that beg to be placed in a space where they can be considered in quiet contemplation. By using elements that naturally agree with the home, such as interior colors and hues, AGS takes the very nature and nuance of the environment and brings them together in works the whole house will agree with.

At a 2005 solo show in Fremont's Ballroom, Andrew Stone had shown a row of grotesquely painted mannequin heads hung with Haiku scrawled around the necks (as if the burns of a hanging) that described how difficult is is to get people to pay attention anymore. Also highlighted were paintings depicting the loss of a friendship, and cosmetic surgery as a commonplace occurrence in life today.

In an exclusive display for Greenlake boutique Unfurl in 2006, Andrew Stone hung paintings that defied regular space of a painting with works such as "The Art That Would Not Be Dissected" that was literally crawling off of the canvas past the frame. "This piece is a visual commentary describing and resisting the visceral compulsion to make sense of a particular work, the viewer playing a dominating role, it's tiring to conquer art just to enjoy it," quips Stone.
'Paintings Your Home Will Love' will be on show from February 4 through March 4 at Starbucks University Village II. The public is welcome at AGS Artist's Reception, Saturday, February 10 at 6:00 p.m.
