Press Releases
Drew Stone returns to deck the walls of Starbucks in University Village II this December, with three completely different works that show the artist’s range.
Seaview, 2008, is a chilling perspective of the viewer floating above the water, looking toward land which is shrouded in ominous clouds, far away. Moving to the artist’s preferred style of abstraction; two works vie for attention in wildly different ways: Point Forest, 2008, plays with the eyes and depth perception using tonal gradients and textures in a random/familiar pattern, and Mexedit, 2008, brings attention to the looping lines and dense negative space of the background, which then gives way to raw burlap, which is the surface of the painting, rough fibers pointing out in all directions.
The artist, Drew Stone, will be on hand to answer questions about the Art and his process. Drew will also have limited edition, hand printed Holiday Cards available at the reception: December 18th at 6:30 to 8:00pm. This event is free and open to the public.
Starbucks University Village II is located on the Northwest end of University Village, next to Crate and Barrel.

Friday, June 12 at 7:00pm, Local abstract artist Drew Stone will be celebrating his show at The Gallery Salon with an artist’s reception at The Gallery Salon in Oak Harbor.
This event is FREE and open to the public.
This is Drew’s first Solo show since returning from Seattle, where he lived and worked as an artist for 10 years. During that time, he established a reputation for large scale; evocative abstract works using repurposed latex paint, as well as smaller linoleum block prints as valentines.
In 2007, Drew began AGS Custom Interiors to help clients create a use for paint and remodel waste. By collaboratively designing unique and meaningful work for homes and offices, AGS Custom Interiors brings personal conservation to new levels, with something beautiful to show for it.
